Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Loud neighbours

Has anyone had loud neighbours? This is one thing that I seem to have every place I live. I'm still renting and will hopefully be buying a home in the next 2-3 years...sigh. I find that my IBS really gets set off by my neighbours loud music late at night. I barely slept at all because of them. I made my second or third noise complaint about them today and they didn't answer their door when the superintendent went to talk to them. (He came up to my apt to tell me they weren't home). Oh brother.

Any suggestions on how to deal with noisy neighbours? We've only been here for 3 LONG months and need to stay for the rest of the 12 month lease. Plus my boyfriend absolutely refuses to move because it's so expensive. He wants to stay here until we have saved up for a home. He says that the money we'll spend on movers is a waste. Plus, he says that we'd probably end up living in another noisy place because all apt buildings aren't sound insulated well. I agree but I don't know if I can live here for 2-3 years.

I know I'm extra sensitive to noise but nobody has the right to blast loud music when they live in a high rise building. Especially after getting previous noise complaints. I guess they really couldn't care less.
