Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hey Guys,

Well, I got out of the hospital today on a "Day Pass" so I have to go back in tonight. I thought I'd leave a little update because they say I'll likely be in there until next Friday for sure (a bit longer than they had originally guessed). It's not horrible, but it's a little annoying because they aren't really doing too much, nightly blood work and vitamin supplements, and basically constantly checking and sampling my stool (fun eh?).

I had the small bowel follow through on Thursday but don't know the results yet, and I may be having an endoscopy later in the week.

I met with a dietician and they're forcing dairy on me - they said since all my restrictions haven't helped, it's safe to assume we should try me on it again. So far it hasn't caused any problems...so I don't really know what that means in terms of what it is.

They're also making me increase my fat intake because they want to do a 48 fecal fat test (sounds fun) so I've been eating a little funny lately

Anyways, I hope all of you guys are doing really well and I'll be sure to update again when I get out for good.

Gonna go lay in my nice bed and visit with my cat and my honey
