What a story ... sounds like you've really been through a lot. I just wanted to tell you that you may want to post this in the Eating for IBS forum instead of the Living Room, you'll likely get more helpful advice there. And start it as a new post...do you know how to do that? When you're in the forum, just go to the button near the top right that says post and it will let you start a new thread, rather than responding to someone else's...that way more people will see it.

One thing I can tell you from my own experience is it sounds like you've at least been on the right type of painkillers for someone with such abdominal trouble, the ones you want to avoid are NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatorys) as they can worsen a lot of stomach and intenstinal problems.

Hang in there, I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice from others on this board...I know for sure there is one other person who has had a diverticulosis attack, so hopefully she can help you in that department.
