Thank heavens that everything worked out okay! I have to say, though, that I think you are feeling way too guilty. Obviously you will never open the door at six a.m. again, but it's not like you did something _wrong_. You're innocent here, my dear.
Just an FYI for Barbie and anyone else who sometimes just ignores the door: Sometimes criminals (robbers, mostly) knock/ring to find out if anyone is home. If no one answers, they break in. It's actually safer to say, as Barbie does sometimes, that you don't open the door to strangers.
I'm so glad we live in a gated complex!!!
