Just recently, I had the good fortune of seeing a new gastroenterologist. Lo and behold! He did a test that none of my previous drs. had even bothered to suggest--a lactose tolerant test. My symptoms have all but disappeared. I would strongly advise anyone who has not had this done to run to your nearest Dr. and request one. If you have had it and it has not been the source of your disturbance, then I am truly sorry. For me, it has been a god-send! I am still troubled by the intermittent constipation and continue to focus on the aids for it, and also follow some of the IBS helps and diet recommendations, which I find very helpful.
