Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | I HATE ALZHEIMERS !!! FIRST THE PRESIDENT NOW MY AUNT!!!

Hi Everyone,

Just venting I think. My father told me last night that my mother's older sister who also had alzheimers died. She got alzheimers at least 4 years after my mother did but she went faster. My mother's other sister also has alzheimers so will try to prepare myself for the inevitable there too. It's such a horrible, horrible, disease that hurts the families as much as the people that get it themselves. How well I know with my mother having it also. People that had so much to offer in life and have to have it all taken away by this terrible disease that takes away all the memories that people have of their loved ones. Hopefully one day there will be a cure for this. In the meantime please say a prayer for those afflicted with it and those that have to look at their loved ones who have it. It shows no mercy.

Just needed to get that off my chest as I know we will be seeing a lot of it on tv the rest of the week and am just preparing myself for how I feel when I look at all the sad faces of the people who will miss President Reagan and know what Nancy had to go through in his last years.
