To my fellow Houstonians - if they can hear me over the collective hum of four million air conditioners I live on the Northwest side, not far from Willowbrook mall. I've found it very easy to shop for my meatless/IBS way of eating here. Between the Kroger and Fiesta in my neighborhood, I've been able to get everything I need so far in the way of meat and dairy substitutes. I picked up a copy of "The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook" over the weekend and ordered some nutritional yeast online so I could play with some of the recipies...so far that's the only thing I haven't been able to get in my own 'hood. I could have gone to the Whole Foods on Westheimer, but it's so hot...and such a long drive.
Anyway, thanks again for welcoming me. Today is grocery day and I shall be on a quest to find soy yogurt.
