I used to get the harness type (when I had a cat I walked, many years ago) but it was like the ones you use for tiny dogs, like having 2 collars..one around the neck and the other around the tummy, and a strip connecting the 2 along the back. I've since talked to a friend about this figure 8 model and she says it's not good, (they still can choke) get the old kind. Not having a cat that wears one any more I wouldn't know.
