Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi All. My name is Jill. I am 40 years old. I found out I had IBS about 10 years ago but I didnt think it was a big deal at the time. The doctor didnt make it seem like a big deal. He didnt explain it too well and I didnt look into it too well. I had other health problems that I thought were a bigger issue so I didnt really care.

So after the last few years of major issues- 6 surgeries in 18 months and a lot of people (including myself)questioning my sanity or my motives, I am being refered back to a different GI to discuss my IBS. This time- I have researched it. This time- I finally understand it. Now I am finally crying. I finally understand what has been going on inside my body. It doesnt mean I have to like it. It doesnt mean I am happy about the hysterectemy I had- and I wonder if it was necessary. I wonder if the 5 other operations were required.
Oh well- too late to worry now.
