Jen, I wish I wasn't so ignorant about tricyclic antidepressants but I am. I suppose it's because I've never needed them. But I keep up on your posts since if what I end up with is a diagnosis of fibro I want to know, from a GOOD expert source (you) what works and what doesn't.
If your new drug, disipramine, has side affects I'm sure you'll know about them. Have you noticed that with fibro (and maybe IBS has something to do with this as well) that if a drug has a side affect, no matter how minimal, you'll get it? I have. It's nuts.
As to your bruising, have you tried Quercetin? It is a bioflavinoid and awesome for bruising. It comes usually mixed with Vit C and can be a derivative of a citrus vit C but not always. I personally like it standing alone as a cap and then take with what ever Vit C I feel I need at the time..and in the form my gut can best tolerate. At first it was sodium ascorbate..it was the only form of Vit C I could handle, but I've been able to tolerate a buffered vit C powder lately............all with food of course.
Never, ever heard of bruising occuring more with fair skinned people, but have with those difficient in something, or with blood disorders. Sometimes I think some docs pull answers out of their A** when they don't have a bona fide answer instead of admiting they don't know.
Anyway, I hope the bruising stops and you start getting some real sleep.................soon.
