Your berry one sounded good. For some reason berries and me and IBS don't set well, so I've had to lay off of them. Besides, if they aren't sweet I keep adding sugar until it tastes more like a berry ice cream!!!
You DO know, I hope, that there are only 2 fruits you should avoid with hypothyroidism. Those are peaches and pears. Everything else is ok. I'm like JenX, I adore pineapple in my smoothies. It gives it a tropical flare!!! I used to make my tropical smoothies with pineapple, papaya, apple, banana, yogurt, a few almonds or pecans or macadamia nuts, and a raw carrot to add more of the orangy color........all made in the Vita-Mix. (That sucker would make rock smoothies if you wanted to, it's so powerful.) Now, with IBS my tropical smoothie might have the protein powder, Rice dream, pineapple, papaya, acacia, a couple almonds and that's about it. I like mine the consistancy of a milk shake so add lots of ice.
I also make chocolate ones........chocolate protein powder, Giradelli's double chocolate hot cocoa mix, a couple nuts, Rice dream, acacia and added sugar if it needs it. Yummmy!!!
But lately I've been on a Date kick and make ones equal to the Date shakes, made with real ice cream, you get in the areas of So Cal where they grow lots of dates. As long as everything is pulverized I don't have a problem digesting it.
I have no idea why it is, but when you don't know what to have, and it's warm out, a smoothie just sorta fills the bill every time.
