Hi Margie, Your experiance sounds quite similar to the way I was introduced to IBS.... I was having diarrhea about 10x a day with crippling nausea, lost 50lbs during this time (3 months). After all the tests, was diagnosed with IBS and told to eat lots of fiber. (Thankfully I found this place)
One thing you may ask your Dr. to rule out is Celiac, which tends to cause severe diarrhea and weight loss due to malabsorbtion. Other than that, considering the tests your Dr. has done, it looks like you get to join the rest of us in your quest for a happy belly.
I have been stable (haven't had to sleep in the bathroom) on Heather's diet for almost a year now. If I do start feeling sick, I just go back to the "what to eat, when you can't eat anything" diet for a few days and feel much better. I also feel much better about the things I am eating and promoting better health by my food choices. PLease read Heather's web site, the information you find here can help you get stabalized and lead a reletively normal life. Best wishes and welcome to the boards.
