poor thing--- you've got a lot going on, there, don'tcha?
as for this...
Quote:
I'm starting to have a hard time just saying what I'm trying to say. I was trying to tell Lexi that I wasn't going to buy here candy because she had Easter candy at home. I couldnt say it...finaly I said no Lexi you have Halloween candy at home! Its like the word Easter sliped my mind...not to mention I had a hard time just saying it! Its like I cant consentrate long enough to say what I'm trying to say!
...i totally get what you're saying. right when i had to stop going to work this last time i had that whole brain-fog thing really really badly. it's so frustrating! i did the same kind of thing that you did with the candy. it's horrifying to have so little control over your brain that you can't remember a word you've used countless times! i would be just struggling and struggling to find the words to say what i was thinking and was totally baffled by the idea of getting the words out. frustrating. AND totally exhausting to try to think that hard (for something so darn stupid!).
that, for me, was a symptom of the CFS/fibro/whatchahoozit, but i have read the symptoms of hypothyroidism can be similar.
in fact, i've been reading so much CFS/fibro stuff lately that i have become convinced that CFS/fibro is many times related to a problem with the thyroid working right. this isn't my theory, it's just one i've seen a few places and it seems to make sense. the things i read said that usually the thyroid levels look normal, but that the brain may not be using/absorbing the thyroid hormomes correctly. i'm going to bring it up with the rhumatologist when i go next week, 'cause i have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism except my tests say "normal."
the other symptom that was driving me crazy was kinda like the word thing... i kept forgetting stuff. all kinds of stuff. there were tons more of those times that i'd walk into a room and forget why, or go to the store and forget something on my list. it was even worse, though, 'cause i would for example walk into the kitchen and think "while i'm in the fridge to get yogurt, i'll get some water, too." then 4 steps later, i'd pick up the yogurt and leave the room and have to come back later for the water. that is, if i even ever remembered it at all! sometimes i never had the thought come back 'til days later. as if it's helpful on Friday to remember that on Monday you meant to get a bottle of water out of the fridge. once, i was looking at the shelf above my sink and decided to put some earrings away. i washed my hands and then walked out the door, not to remember the earrings for hours! that kind of thing was happening all the time... like 30 or so incidents a day of forgetting the most normal stuff. Geez, i should be able to hold onto one little thought for a little less than 2 minutes, right!?
argh. why can't we just be "normal!?"
anyway... hope you get that appointment sooner, but if not at least you have one next week. it's better than waiting 5 months or something ridiculous!
feel better!
SMOOCHES.
