Thanks Bev. There's hope for us! I know so many women our age who are losing weight. Most of them are in weight watchers. If they can do it, we can!
No, I don't feel too different yet, but I think I will after I lose at least another 15 lbs. or so.
As far as the blood pressure goes; you're right, I can't tell any difference because of the medication. But, I don't really expect it to be better because of weight loss, because I was thin when I was diagnosed with it in the first place. Everyone in my whole family has it and it doesn't matter what our weight is.
I'm hoping weight loss will help me to get insurance, though, because that was a negative, too. Hey, it sure isn't going to hurt, that's for sure.
Bev, you inspired me, too. (The food diary). I was able to see that my problem was eating too much. This diet is so great for health and it's saturated with the foods I love anyway, so since I must diet and change my life, I can't think of a better diet to do it with!
I love how I'm NEVER hungry. I LOVE carbs!
Hey Bev; Jill Sklar, from the Crohn's board, has a great substitue for sugar cravings. She suggested a banana and peanut butter. I tried this when I had a craving, and it worked!!! I took a banana and a very small amount of natural peanut butter and dipped the banana in it. I couldn't believe how good it is and satisfying. I don't get cravings for sweets too often nowadays, but when I do; this is what I eat. I actually find myself craving this for a snack instead of sugar!! Just a suggestion in case you're interested.
We can do this, Bev!!! Terri
