ok. the gry thing:

remember back in school you would get those little "brain teasers" that
would go something like this...
"If a plane full of passengers flying over the border of Montana and
Canada
crashed one Sunday morning in the rain, where would they bury the
surviors"
???

and the answer was always something really obvious but half the time you
went so fast you didn't really see the answer or you got hung up on some
irritating little fact like "sunday? sunday? does that impact who gets
buried in which place!?"? In this case, the answer is: you wouldn't bury
the survivors anywhere- they're still alive! you bury the dead, the
victims.

GROAN.

well that's how this one started out, apparently.

but you probably also remember the game "telephone" don't you? the one
where you would say a sentence and then whisper it to someone and they
whispered it to someone else, and so forth. at the end of the line the
last
person said the sentence and it was probably nothing like the original
sentence.

well, that's what happened here.

this is the email that's being sent:
"There are three words in the English language that end with "gry." One
is
hungry and the other is angry. What is the third word? Everyone uses
this
word every day, everyone knows what it means, and knows what it stands
for.
If you have listened very closely I have already told you the third
word."

but it's been "telephoned." it probably was worded differently at the
beginning, when it first started being sent around the web.

the answer is really: THE THIRD WORD IS HUNGRY.

See the sentence "One is hungry and the other is angry"-- the third word
in
the sentence is hungry.

I'm not sure at all what the original phrasing was, but I saw this on a
website that explained odd words and so forth.
