Are you IBS-C, IBS-D or IBS-A. It is helpful to put this information in your signature so we known what sort of advice to give.

Whole grains are known to exacerbate IBS. The IBS research is quite clear on this fact. They are at the top of the insoluble fiber list. It is best to avoid them and get your insoluble fiber from fruits and veggies. It might be worth while reviewing the information on soluble and insoluble fiber on the web site and in Heather's books. There is nothing unhealthy about sourdough and french bread. It is the whole grains that are unhealthy for IBS.

Questions about foods and diet are best asked on the IBS diet board. The living room is more for non-IBS diet questions.
