Is it a toss up?       03/15/09 12:04 PM Edit Reply Quote Kata Reged: 01/11/09 Posts: 15 Hey Everyone, I have been researching old posts to help me make a decision. I have been taking Xanax at night to help me sleep due to my anxiety. I also have been taking amitryptalin (elavil). I am going to make the move to get off of Xanax after discussions with my primary doctor and my psych Dr. Now, here is the question--my psych doctor has suggested that I try the once a week prozac pill for the anxiety. My primary doctor on the other hand has suggested Cymbalta. She seems to think that Prozac isn't effective long term. My symptoms are IBS-A. Anyone with IBS-A who has tried either of these drugs in combo with Elavil have any suggestions or advice? I feel like I am just flipping a coin. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.
