Well, the BBQ went OK....just not as many people showed up as we thought would. So now we have probably 12 pounds of hamburger left because my husband thought we should buy 20 pounds of burger!!! I tried to tell him that was way too much, but he wouldn't listen, so instead of argue about it, I went ahead and let him buy that much. I told him we could get 3 good sized burgers out of each pound and we were expecting roughly 20 to 25 people throughout the day...so we should only need about 9 or 10 pounds and that would give us extras if people wanted more than one burger....but NOOOOOO he swore we'd need 20 pounds!!! Get this...he originally wanted to buy 50 pounds!!!!!!! So luckily, I was nice about it and talked him down to 20 pounds....I told him 10 -12 pounds and he thought 20 so we settled on 20...I DID NOT rub it in and do the "I told you so" routine. Tonight he said "I guess we didn't need 20 pounds after all." If I had been a pain about it, it would have only made things worse, but since I let him go ahead and buy the 20 pounds and do it as he wanted and actually see that 20 pounds was too much....then he admitted that it was. You know what I mean? Why are men like that?
Anyway...we did have a good time with the few people who did show up. I wish we would have given a specific time so that everyone would have been there at the same time, but hubby just wanted to give a general time...between noon and dark...so we had people trickle in and out all day....he was cooking burgers as people would show up.
There may be more show up tomorrow, but not sure. He stayed at our cabin tonight while I came home to take care of things that need done daily here and so that he can get some work done at our cabin in the morning. I will go back to our cabin tomorrow and come back home tomorrow night so that I can go to work Monday. Hubby is off on vacation until August. So he will be working on our mountain property the next couple weeks and come home every few days or so. So I am kind of a bachelorette for a couple more weeks.
