Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi every one! I am new here, my name is Jenn. I am 29 and live in Michigan. I found out in May after going back and forth to the hospital that I have IBS. This has been very hard on me and my whole life revolves around it. I found this site through a link in another support group and I was amazed by all the imformation given. After reading every thing I have some new hope that I can get a grip on this IBS and start living life again. I feel 40, I never want to leave the house and when I do I am scared the whole time. I guess I have IBS-c which makes no sense at all to me, I spent most of my life with D and one day I had these horrible spasms and it kept happening every day for 3 days and from then on it turned to c. I was on zelnorm but it started to affect me in a very bad way. I am on Bentyl and now after reading all about the fibers I am going to try this way of eating and see if it helps. Still looking to use pepermint capsules, it says I should not use the tea if you have gerd and that I sure have also. Hoping to meet some new people and a support system. I am so happy I am not alone in this and it's a blessing to have support groups like this.
