Sometimes we realize a connection between traumatic body events (which a post-surgery complication definitely qualifies as!) and the onset of IBS. Did you take a lot of antibiotics for your infection? My IBS started after several harsh cycles of antibiotics I took after a nasty bout with pneumonia when I was 7.
