Don't get me wrong...I wasn't abused. I had a good family...just some of the things they did that they thought were funny, were actually damaging to someone like me who was shy. I never realized that until it has all caught up with me 39 years later. I had to have a hysterectomy last year so I will never be able to have children of my own and raise them the way I wished I was raised. I wish I would have been encouraged to do more things instead of always hearing "she's shy". I wish I would have been less "sheltered". My family loves me, I know....they were not abusive...they were just young when they got married and didn't know how to really raise kids. They learned as they went along.
