Avelox is okay for some of us...       12/04/03 08:05 PM Edit Reply Quote TessLouise Reged: 01/21/03 Posts: 540 Loc: Nashville, TN I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa antibiotics, and I'm on five other prescription meds, so I've been prescribed Avelox twice because a) I'm NOT allergic to it and b) it doesn't interact with my other meds. I have had zero problems with it...I just make sure to eat a soy yogurt with live cultures every day I'm on it. My nurse-practitioner knows I have IBS, and she's very careful about the drugs she prescribes to me. (I'm not a huge fan of antibiotics anyway, but I had a month-long sinus infection I couldn't kick, and more recently, a painful ear infection...even I utilize conventional medicine when truly necessary.)
