Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | update..went to rheumy doctor..

i posted a couple weeks ago about my pain and how the doctors kept blaming my weight..so i seen the specialist and i have fibro .. he checked me all over..he was so nice, first a student dr came in and touched what she thought were the tender points and i got so excited cause it didnt hurt much lol..then he came in and said "i can tell u right now youre a classic case of someone with fibro, ive been doing this for years" so he touched tender points and i started crying..it hurt so bad.. he was teaching the student dr as he went along .. he said he wasnt even touching me that hard..thats how he knows.. so here the student was touching the wrong places lol but anyways im upset cause i was hoping it was nothing but im also happy cause i have a diagnosis.. does that make sense? lol.. hes keeping me on the amitriptyline cause he said he likes that pill and thats the best one to take..and he told me to get a stationary bike and exercise as much as i can.. and he said to keep fighting it, no matter how much pain im in, to make sure i move around at all times.. although it will be hard.. he also said it sounds like i have signs of arthritis so if that type of pain and swelling keeps up i have to go back..he said my weight has nothing to do with it but he feels if i lost some it would help so im going to try my best. ..but im so happy i had a nice doctor!
