Forget the weight. Those people who are trying to tell you to lose know nothing about what's going on with you inside. They don't understand the fatigue of fibro, the pain, the achiness and most of all the feeling of isolation that comes from suffering without help from your doctors and others who don't know about the disease!!!
[deep breath, nelly]
Sorry. This is a pet peeve of mine, people giving stupid advice because they can't think of anything intelligent to say. Doctors look at people and think "What's wrong with them? How can I fix it??" When they can't fix what's wrong, nthey invent something else to get you worried about to distract you from the problem.
For me, it was IBS. Well they can't "fix" that, so they were like, "Oh you must be depressed. Here, take drugs" and they fling a bunch of stuff at me that DIDN'T work and had awful side effects. And all the while my IBS was like Hello, I'm still here!, but by this time, I'm all tired, bloated and zombified with the mental capabilities of a fern.
Stoopid doctors.
Please take hope that we've been where you're at. The trickt to fibro is that you don't get *well* exactly, but you *do* get to the point where you can manage it better. Which means you have more good days than bad.
We fibromites have to control the pain, get tons of restorative sleep, get the IBS under control, and get the vitamins and nutrients we need. If your general doctor can't handle a fibro patient, there's fibro clinics with wonderful doctors out there who will listen to you and work with you to get you better...
