I actually used to get such severe pains in my lower abdomen that I went to emergency *twice* as the pain was so bad I was nearly hysterical, but both times it was nothing -- Although it sure didn't feel like nothing and I hated hearing that! I don't know exactly what it is, but I guess as your intestines and colon go right down there it can pretty much hurt anywhere... who knows? Yet another IBS mystery, maybe!
