Asacol is usually the first drug that most people with colitis are prescribed. I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago and that was the first drug they tried. It didn't work for me (didn't really reduce the D that I was experiencing) so for me it definitely didn't cause constipation. I haven't taken either of the other drugs that you've mentioned but I do believe that Entocort is usually prescribed for Chrohn's and I have never taken Colazal. Good luck with the meds and remember if they're not working for you to go back to your GI doc and ask him to try something else.
