Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Bug Bites

So right now I have a total of 21 bug bites all over me. Some are small and look like mini-pimples (except they itch!) and others are huge. I started getting the mini-pimple ones when I spent two nights at my dad's house last week and got the rest of them at my boyfriend's house.

My BF and I are thinking that the small ones are flea bites and the big ones are spider bites. My dad has two indoor cats (plus my cat now), but says they've never had fleas. My BF's roommate has a dog, but says he puts Advantage flea medication on the dog religiously every month. Two days ago I was in my BF's bathroom and found two fleas on my foot.

There is a tree outside my boyfriend's room that has been known to have spiders, so we are pretty sure I am getting the spider bites from his place. However, I am getting the small pimple bites at both my dad's house and my BF's house! These all began just last week.

So I guess I have a couple questions:
1) How do you identify which insects are biting you?
2) How do you determine where they are coming from?
3) Is there anything besides calamine lotion and other insect bite relief products that anyone can recommend?
4) Prevention methods?

We are bug bombing my BF's house tonight and my dad is moving on Wednesday to a different apartment (was already planned) so I am hoping that helps! But I am losing sleep because of these darn bites and want to make sure I don't get any more!
