I can't imagine what everyone involved is going through - your friend, her family, and also the dead boy's family. I've heard of new fathers 'losing it' after the birth, but this is crazy. What could possibly have been going through his mind? Very scary, and very sad, an absolutely tragic and wasteful end to a life. I really hope your friend does ok, and isn't too damaged by what he did to her physically. As for mentally, I can't even begin to comprehend how she feels.
