When I was in high school I lived there for 3 months on exchange. It was the time of my life. It also contributed to my IBS though as I got a really bad intestinal infection while I was there. - watch out for the milk products!! They aren't all pasturized!!
The little town I actually lived in was Piana Battolla, just outside of La Spezia. The Cinque Terre was my playground though. I spent a lot of time in Porto Venere with my fellow Canadian chum and school mates. We all came in from the surrounding area to the same lecchio scientifico. I miss it, but I have grown up alot since then too!! I can't just lay on the beach all day or take off and go hiking when I please! Gotta work!
