I think the cover you're thinking of was Vertical Herizon's back in ... ummm ... 1999? I think. I really hate country music, so this night was sort of painful for me. But I watched it anyway, because I am hooked, and because I was really curious about what Chris would do. ...and he sang some super-boring country ballad!! Argh!! Oh, Chris, how could you do that to us? Come on, there's got to be at least SOME rocker-esque country songs ... I wonder if "I Walk the Line" would've counted for country week? Oh, well. I guess a ballad is better than one of those twangy ditties where some redneck guy is talking about making out with Bobbie Jo in his pickup truck. I could not believe how horrible Paris and Mandisa were.
