Ok, so more drugs for me. He is starting me on sulfazine, in addition to the placquenil I'm already on. I guess this is also supposed to help slow the disease down. They also use if for colitis and crohn's. He also put me on Indomethacin. I guess its a fancy NSAID. He warned me of the heart attack issues it can cause but I told him if I die of a heart attack today, at least I won't be in agony anymore! It should hopefully reduce the inflammation in my chest. My lungs can only inflate to about 20% capacity right now due to the swelling. He also double the previcid in hopes of avoiding some of the tummy upset that goes along with these drugs.
I also will have to have my blood checked every week for 2 months than every other week for 2 months and so on to be sure that the RA drugs are not killing my bone marrow or destroying my white blood cells. Sounds like some nasty medication to me but its the only option for now.
The next step is to go on methotrexate and one of the drugs like enbrel or humara. Although if I do that, I will not be able to get pregnant for a very long time and since I'm approaching 36, I really don't have the time to spare. I guess we will see what the new RE says tomorrow about the miscarriages and I will try and decide before I see the RA dr again in a month.
