hello everyone, I am new to the board and I was diagnosed with IBS 5 years ago. I took me about a year to get some control on it through a diet of foods I found to be safe, chiropractic therapy(my back triggers my gut). I had also started eating whole wheat and high fiber foods like the doctors suggested(real problem with gas and bloating), then two years ago I found Heathers website while trying to find some information I could give my now fiancee(Hanh) so she could somewhat understand my problem.
Changing my diet to soluble fiber helped alot with gas and bloating, and Hanh got me to join 24 Hour fitness which I thank God for her doing. I found that working out reduced my gut size and strengthened my back and reduced my stress which all helped to reduce my IBS attacks( C or D). And since she is Vietnamese alot of her food I find does not bother me at all, Still have to watch some of it though.
So thank you Heather.

One issue I have just runn into is this last weekend I got, I think the stomach flu. Both IBS and the stomach flu have similar symptoms but for me the nausea and diarrhea with no spastic colon told me it was something else. It has triggered me IBS constapation though which is making it hard to recover because my body can't get rid of the virus. Has this ever happened to anyone else.

Thanks Derrick.
