I bet the heaviness is the pneumonia. My DH suffers from a cronic lung condition that causes repeating pneumonias. When it flares, he always describes it as a heaviness. Hopefully, as the antibiotics work, the feeling will lessen.
You must be on some strong stuff for pneumonia though if it is already talking to your GI tract that way! I'm taking my probiotics faithfully at a different time of day, and I know it is helping me. You might consider picking up some Jarrodophilus since you have to take these for such a long time.
