I've been having bladder problems now for awhile that just keep getting worse. The two big problems I have are urgency and pain -- trying to hold it for any length of time is really painful. I usually wake up in the middle of the night in a lot of pain and feel a little bit better once I pee, but afterwards it hurts in an achey painful kind of way. On the rare occasions I manage to sleep through the night, I'm dying when I wake up because it hurts so bad. When I'm awake I go to the bathroom at least every 45 minutes, though I usually start feeling the urge to go again about 20 minutes after I empty my bladder. I also have problems actually starting to pee, but I don't know if maybe that's because I go so often that there really isn't much in there.
The most likely cause is that my endometriosis has invaded my bladder, but I just had a laparoscopy back in early December and the gynecologist didn't mention seeing endo there. However, I have absolutely no confidence that he even looked.
I've been checked for a UTI, negative. I've had them before anyway and this feels nothing like one. The only other things I can think of that are bladder-related would be kidney stones or IC, but from what I've read it doesn't really seem like what I'm experiencing.
I had a cyst on my right ovary that was still there on my last ultrasound two months ago, so I sort of wonder if maybe it is still there and causing problems. I have been beginning to have some bad pains on my right side, but it might also be the endometriosis growing back on my ovary or on the site of my appendix removal.
My next doctor's appointment is next month, and obviously this is one of the things that will get checked out, but I just want to know about possibilities beforehand so I can do some reading. Basically I just want to make sure I'll know what questions to ask right up-front rather than doing research later and having questions when I don't have a follow-up for another six months.
Oh, yeah, and since I'm a girl, I already know I don't have an enlarged prostate. (As much as I dislike my doctor, I'm pretty sure he would have noticed if I had a prostate floating around in there when he cut me open.)
