I have this problem too! The IBS compunded with the IC, vulvodynia, I can eat junk and be mostly ok. But I put that healthy food in me and voila PAIN and C
What I'm doing right now is weaning myself off the Ensure (I HATE sugar, nasty buggers!)is this:
I drink as soon as I wake up in the a.m. I wait at least half an hour and eat a small meal (like 1-2 egg whies with maybe a cup of broccoli. This takes forever and I really graxe on it throughout the morning). A half hour after eating I allow myself to drink water again (NO sipping while eating even). This helps the bloating and pain with the broccoli (and a LOT of beano...and the broccoli is streamed and mashed). This is how I get my firber without pain.
Lunch wil be mashed sweet potato and brocolli. With a bit of salt. Again, no drinking while eating! Only sippies if you're REALLY thirsty. AND I plan to find out if Spelt bread is IC safe and if it is have a slice of this as well for lunch (if not I will have to substitute fish or something to get enough calories).
Dinner will be Zuccini and sweet potato mixed with white potato mashed...ooh and I think pease too!
Snacks will be mashed cauliflower and mashed chick peas but not together... (Haven't tried mashed chick peas yet...hope they don't offend my IC or vulvo...gets an apperhensive yet courageous look in eyes) :-)
So basically I'm eating veggies all day...just babyfood style (sounds reminiscent of someone I know whose name begins with a K(atie)
It's SOOO good just to be eating again. I know it will take time and I'm gonna go through major detox since I've been subsisting on sugar from Ensure but I need to do this. It's great to do it with you BL *hugs*
