Tough and controversial question. I am a nanny, that's all I do and I love it. I have ECE units, CPR and First Aid certification, diplomas, and over a decade of experience with children ages 0-15, with and without many different special needs and I feel that I deserve what I make which is $11/hour. Also, if I accept less, I can't pay my bills. So, I say that what you pay depends entirely upon the experience a person has and what is expected of them. Just remember that, when it comes to childcare, you often times get what you pay for. And be careful of those who are in childcare only because they think it is an easy job. Definately check references, even if it is only for one night.
