Re: more building construction woes.....       10/20/03 01:56 PM Edit Reply Quote Nugget Reged: 02/10/03 Posts: 2167 Thanks Lana....the deal is that they didn't put in the amount of rebar that was in the contract and when they cut the concrete out to fix the crane pad we noticed that most of the rebar isn't even pulled up into the concrete...it is at the bottom of the concrete which means there is no strength in the floor....the re-bar should be in the middle of the concrete...say if you have a 6 inch floor the rebar should be held at 3 inches. The inspector has nothing to do with the floor. They do not inspect "flatwork" such as floors....they only inspect what they consider "structural" items...ie. framework and footer walls, etc. the reason we are wanting to settle it with a deduction off the balance is so that we can get it fixed by someone more capable. We don't want to deal with these guys any more because they obviously don't know what they are doing. Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
