I think the secrets were about his family---that his biological father has never wanted anything to do with him. Then his half-sister committed suicide. About 4 years ago, Clay changed his last name to that of his stepfather that raised him and his real father's family was not too happy about that. Supposedly, they all watched him on tv during the AI show, but no one has contacted him since he won. Dianne asked him if he would talk to his father if his father called him, and Clay hesitated but said yes, but then said he didn't think his father would. It was eerie when they showed a photo of his biological father because Clay looks just like him. And Clay's mother and real father were both singers!
