I just found out that when I was in the hospital this past July, a former student of mine was killed instantly in a car accident. She was 18. She was the sweetest girl. So caring, thoughtful, intelligent - had the whole world in front of her. Such a waste. This is the second former student of mine to have died. It sucks. I also lost two former staff members this spring -one of them was my closest friend and coworker - we were so close we could finish each others sentences. Why does God take such good people early? It doesn't seem fair. I know there's no answer and I know that I have to accept that, but it's so hard. I miss my dear friend that died this spring so much... she taught this girl too. I think I'm going to write the family a sympathy card and take it down to the funeral home and make a donation in her name. It shouldn't be too late, should it? Maybe the funeral home can forward my sympathy card if I put a stamp on it. My only hope is that God has a special purpose for all these wonderful people in Heaven. Otherwise, it's such a waste.
