Well, I just went to the salon yesterday to get my hair cut and coloured and the price tag was definitely enough to make me re-think not doing it at home. I haven't had great experience dying my hair at home because I've tried to do high lights and have ended up pretty 'yellow' at times.
I think red hair would probably look really nice too, but beware!! I dunno how pale your skin is, but some red dyes can make you look ULTRA pale. I had red and blonde highlights put into my hair a few years ago and if you look at the pictures of me at the time I look so so ill because of how completely WHITE my face looks. I'd definitely make sure to get one that isn't too crazy red if you are worried about not liking it so you don't have to worry about fixing it.
