Hi,
Am new to the list. Did post a message almost a week ago under Please HELP FAST and rec'd one reply for which I am truly thankful.
I REALLY would like to hear fr. more people re my concerns. Was hoping I would hear from Heather.
Did find out fr. Dr's receptionist that it is ok to take Immodium at least, but doubt that I should take it near Wed. when the procedure is.
Have been doing quite a bit of reading on here and WEB MD and note that over the past couple years I have had skin rashes, but not allegric to lotions, makeup, etc. per a patch test at the dermatologists, but in calling the dermatologist, was told that I certainly could be allergic to some food which is causing the what they call a rash.......but the nurse said they were lesions.... I did have some removed as early as 2 yrs ago. I also have joint pain, sometimes in the knees, have seen a chiropractor the last 2 yrs for back and neck and he said I have some arthritis.
Also, a couple of years ago I was told by my Internist or GP.....not sure which she is...., that the trouble that I had with my right arm in that I couldn't reach back with it anymore was arthritis, however, that has gone away as suddenly as it came on and I have just abt as much use of it at present as I originally had. These things are also making me wonder if they have anything to do with all this and if it truly is IBS since my pain has been in the lower right abdomen for the past several years.
Please refer to my first post mentioned above for more info. I have been living on rice, oatmeal like crazy for the past couple days since I can't have any Metamucil. Found that rice milk is really great stuff!!!!! Delicious. At one time I was off any milk product for abt. 15 yrs. and now if I have any.....(only things I ever have is milk in coffee which I seldom drink.....as I've stuck to tea for years now & occasionally ice cream this past yr or so, but since getting the D on July 4 have stayed away from it except a couple times when I seemed a bit better and used a lactose tablet). However, after my 1st short bout w/D in Jan/Feb this year when getting over bronchitis, and until this summer when the trouble cropped up again like crazy and has kept me indoors the whole summer........., I could eat ice cr. w/no more problems than my usual extreme urgency.
I had been on a a few weeks worth of Levaquin for the bronchitis. The Dr. then....I was in FL, gave me promenthazine as he could hear my stomach....WHO COULDN"T!!!!!! and that took care of that. Got some more this time, but it didn't take care of the D. Oh... the Dr. in FL checked for blood in the stool and it was negative. Anyway don't know if I mentioned that the GI here gave me Levbid to take once a day in the evening and that seems to work better than the other.
Tried the Calcium Caltrate and that seems to help and have upped that to 3/4 of one 3x/day before the procedure. Am wondering if I should have upped it on a temporaty basis??? Some times I wonder if the Metamucil (Equate fr. Walmart) gives you gas??? Seems I see that Citrucel is better in that regard. By the way, I'm allergic to BEANS and don't see how I could eat any of the soy products in the IBS recipes......as well as citrus and anything spicy....!!!
Well...trying to hang in here but am REALLY DEPRESSED........!!!! Sure hope to get some input from others.........! Thanks in advance....!!!! Oh....refer to my lst post mentioned above for more details.......!
