I was relieved on Monday to hear my new dentist say that dispite 2 years of no dental visits, my teeth look totally fine. It was expensive but I got a cleaning and a ton of xrays, so I guess it wasn't too bad. The dentist was pretty nice and the whole thing was fine.
I went to the Pulmonologist and it was annoying but fine. I still have asthma, and it's not much worse, but a tiny bit. I think that's probably because I've been off my meds for over a week. Anyway he wrote me Rx's for all the same stuff, gave me 5 refills, which means I have to see him at that point to get more. That's totally fine with me, as long as they tell me that now!
As for the student health visit about my potential thyroid problem ... good news and bad news. She tested my blood and was very patient and attentive. The good news is there is nothing wrong with my thyroid. The bad news is that means I gained weight all by myself. The annoying but not overwhelmingly bad news is that I am anemic, which accounts for all the fatigue. I was actually pretty relieved to hear that, since I had already convinced myself I had everthting from leukemia to diabetes. So, I have to go back this coming Tuesday for more bloodwork, to find out which type of anemia I have. Apparantly there are different kinds, and I know nothing. Then, the school is setting up an appointment for me with a visiting nutritionist, who will help me work on my diet to increase my iron intake and deal with my weight changes. The dr knows that I probably won't tolerate iron pills very well, so hopefully they have another method for me. Same goes for the nutritionist -- I hope she'll respect my opinions about Heather's diet and not try to get me to eat red meat (which I LOVE and miss dearly, but I know is a no-can-do!). So, we'll see about all that.
Steph, I hope you're feeling better. Let us know what's up.
