Sorry this is so late but I wanted to respond anyways. I was terrified of post-operative nauseau/vomiting when I had my first surgery and I was FINE I came out of the anesthetic really well...groggy but not nauseaus at all...I was in a bit of pain but the recovery room nurses took care of that right away and I was good. THe only nauseau I experienced was on the drive home, my surgery was a day procedure and they sent me home about 3 hours after I came out of anethestic, so I was still pretty groggy, and the driving didn't go over so well.
My advice would be to talk to the doctor about it, if you're really concerned they might be able to give you something in recovery to make sure that you don't vomit. Also, if you're not staying overnight you may want to ask for something for the transportation home (even if it's just Gravol)
