He had been bedridden from a series of strokes for more than 8 years when he died, and at the time, had been married for 72 years. Even though his funeral was almost celebretory, because we knew he was with the Lord, it still left a gaping hole in our family. His wife and my grandmother turns 97 in November and after 7 years still misses him terribly, but time did ease the pain. We still cry over granddaddy, but they are now happy tears.
