Well, the drugs are working, maybe a little too well. I am only cd 8 (thats cycle day 8, CD 1 is the first day of your period!) and I have TEN follicles (eggs!) A follicle is considered mature when its about 18 mm and you estrogen levels are at least 150-200 per follicle. I had one follie at 14mm, two at 12, two at 10 and the rest were at 8mm!! I had a blood test to check the estrogen level and they will call me later this afternoon with the results and instructions but the Re will probably decrease the dose I'm on from two vials a day to one.

The follies typically grow at 1-2mm per day. The drugs I'm on must make them grow a lot faster though because these are BIG follicles for CD8!! So, I go back in Monday am for another ultrasound and more blood work and go from there. The hope is that only the larger 4-5 follies will actually mature because if theres many more than that, they will probably cancel my cycle. Each follie does have the chance of fertilizing and becoming a baby. However, at 35 years old, the likelyhood of anything more than twins, even with a tummy full of eggs, is very low.

So, I'm excited and nervous. Lets hope that not all of the eggs mature and they don't have to cancel my cycle!! My ovaries have been hurting since yesterday so I knew I was brewing a big batch but TEN

. I'm hoping things will go as planned and I'll be given an hcg injection to cause the eggs to release probably early next week than we will do iui a day or two after that! Please send good egg vibes my way!!
