I was watching the evening national news last night and they had a story on about childern in jail in the phillippines. Most of them were in jail for no other reason than they were orphans and had no where to live and some petty theft, stealing food and such just to live. The living conditions were horrible. They crammed as many childern in a cell as possible, sometimes they were put into cells with real criminals, such as murders and pediphiles!!! These childern were in rags and didn't have enough food to eat and certainly didn't deserve to be living in prison!!
They showed a picture of a 5 year old girl crammed in a cell with many others. It really broke my heart, even WIll was upset. As someone who is suffering from infertility problems and realize the value of a child, I just wept at the pictures. I would take one of those childern in an instant and raise it as my own. Why is adoption so difficult and expensive when there are so many childern who need someone to take care of them and love them??
Anyways, just wanted to rant. Did anyone else see this segment on the news last night?
