Ok, so this is my first time on EBay. I know pathetic, but I thought since I can not find any size 5 shoes that I want in the stores near me, I'd try Ebay. Well, I put in my search for size 5 new pumps and 683 come up I'm like "YES"!!!! First pair I find (which is I guess what has got me addicted) is a pair of black pointy Prada pumps that were gorgeous. Retail was $400 and they started at $9.99. My first bid $19.99- my limit to myself was gonna be $50. I go to $51 and someone outbids me. Long story short they end up going for $102.00 which made me feel better since it was WAY out of my range. 2nd pair of shoes....Pink pointy Kenneth Cole adorable pumps. Retail $120 started at $9.99. Much more in my range so I bid. I was the highest bidder at 10:00 pm last night before I went to bed. I bid $20.01. Would you know that 15 seconds before the auction ended, someone bid $20.50. I LOST I was not about to stay up till 11:30 to bid cause I thought I'd win it but I guess I was wrong and should have stayed up. Now my questions are:
Is is best to bid at the end of the auction, say 1 minute before it ends?
How do people do it? I mean, do you do it from work if the end time ends up being say 1:30pm when you are working? I can't do that?!?!?!?!?!?! Do you just bid on things that you know the time will be convenient for you?
This is so high tech now that did you know you can actually have Ebay ring your cell phone when someone outbids you? OMG I thought this was gonna be simple and I'd pretty much get what I wanted. After all how many people are there out there with a stinkin size 5 foot??????? Ughhh I'm frustrated and need some tips so that I don't keep adding "lost bids" to my name.
