I usually don't get embarrassed by my girls because I figure they are just kids and I don't expect them to be perfect. Even there comments don't make me embarressed, most of the time. My girls loved those carts that look like trucks or cars but they are way too big now. I wish we had a place near by that you could buy you groceries and pick them up it would make it easier. Plan b for yesterday was to go shopping without the kids when hubby came home but I was doing pretty good when we got there. I usually go during the day so we can spend time together as a family when he is home. During the winter he would go shopping on his lunch hour to get away from work since if he is there people are pestering and he doesn't get a break. It worked out great since it was so cold he could keep the stuff in his car and then I didn't have to deal with Zoe and her crying. She would cry everytime we went shopping for the first 4 months. It was so hard. Plus I only had a short time before I had to rush home to get Meike. Joys of living in the country were every place worth going is a long drive.
