I've been having a lot of problems with my hips. The right one is worse than the left. I've had pain in my hip joints for year but this past January it was awful, I think from the added pressure of using crutches when I hurt my ankle. So, back in January, I had one cotisone shot in my left hip and two in the right and that seemed to help a lot. Only minor pain occasionally. Well, the last couple of weeks, its been just awful.
I'm seeing an orthopedic surgeon, the same one who treated me for my foot injury. I had an MRI done on Saturday and although the final, dictated report wasn't in yet, the dr looked at the mri and said it was just bursitis, which is an inflammation of the hip joint. I got another cortisone shot about 2 weeks ago and it didn't help at all! I did about 2-3 hours of casual walking yesterday and I can hardly wlak today it hurts SO bad. I can't take any of the anti-inflammatory medications because of the IBs and I will be ovulating this weekend so have to be careful what I take. I did break down and took two ultracet and thay didn't touch the pain. The surgeon doesn't know what else to do so he sent me to physical therpay. My appt is Thursday to get started on that. Anyone else ever have bursitis and what did you do to treat it??
