Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

We had a heavy rain this morning, and we got a surprise---a puddle of water on my hallway floor. Water was running down the laundry room door. When I opened the door, I saw a wet circle on the ceiling!

Believe it or not, this is directly underneath where the painters replaced some exterior wood several weeks ago. So I called them and they said they'd be out tomorrow to take a look. I demanded they come today (MORE RAIN IS FORECAST FOR TONIGHT). My husband is out of town and I'm terrified that if we get a heavy rain that water will pour through the ceiling onto the wood floors!

The painting contractor couldn't find a problem (SURPRISE!), and he suggested we both get a roofing contractor out to take a look. I called one a friend recommended and they can't come out until Tuesday at noon!

So I crawled into the attic with a flashlight and a pencil to try and find a wet spot. I saw some wet boards and took several photos with my camera.

Now my back is killing me since I had to crouch down to crawl through this attic space!
